Me and Breastfeeding

Assalamualaikumwarahmatullahiwabarakatuh

Its the time of the year again - school holiday and university is also on holiday - or at least the students are. normally at this time of the year, the university would also be at peace as the lecturers would also take the opprtunity to take a break themselves. I had my break last week already when we went back to Kelantan for Asyraf's Aqiqah. Anyway that is not the topic i am to discuss, it was just that the situation of the silent / boring office that took me browsing some of the amzing mother's blog.. I really love and really got inspired when i read their blogs.. I intend to put their blog's link in my blog if i do get time. So... because of that inspiring moments, I today will write about my breastfeeding journey so far.

Firstly, I am truly thankful to Allah for giving me the courage to breastfeed Asyraf from the day he was born and until now. He is currently 3 months and 3 days, and yet we have not given him any supplementary milk a.k.a cow's milk. I was very determined even during my maternity that I was to only give him the best ( which is mother's breastmilk) up until he is 6 month and wish to continue until he is 2 years old. InsyaAllah. Of course all this is possible because of Allah. Alhamdulillah so far, even after some little doubt my mum and dad had upon breastfeeding theory, I was still determined to only breastfeed and no solid food until he is 6 months old.

What encourage me more to breastfeed despite of the difficulties ( pumping session during work time, leaking moments, handling ebm, etc) is that I know what Allah has created and has encouraged to do is always the best for us human being. Breastfeeding is stated in Al-Quran(Al-Baqarah [2]: 233). And further approved by science..Mother's breastmilk is the best for baby with all of its quality. Even the most expensive processed cow's milk with additional values are not to compete with natural breastmilk. Allah has created such a milk factory so fine that it produces milk with the required nutrition accordingly to the baby's age and need. Of course there is no challenge to that.

I did mention a few difficulties of breastfeeding, but there are more benefits which I love and continue to love and be motivated to continuosly breastfeed, which are :

1) Easy. Baby is hungry - no need to prepare anything. Just raise up your t-shirt and feed. (especially at night)
2) Of course - lengthy explanation just now - it is the BEST milk for your baby
3) No need for bottle if you are out with your baby. Just the right cloth and a multi-use nursing cover.
4) Free slimming program. tee hee.. I now weight less than I was before I got pregnant.
5) I love to share / read other mothers blog about breastfeeding

Well I will update bits by bits my journey of breastfeeding. Till then here are some snaps of my breasfeeding journey part 1.
